Counting of votes for Panchayat by-election was completed on Thursday in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh. Atishya Yadav was elected Pradhan from Akbarpur Sarai Gram Panchayat of Araon Block. He defeated his opponent by 147 votes.
In Akbarpur Sarai, the former elected Pradhan Alok Yadav was selected for the post of teacher. On this he resigned from the post of Pradhan. After this the seat became vacant. A by-election was held on this. Three candidates Sandhya Devi, Hariom and Atishya Yadav were in the fray in the by-election.
Voters cast their votes in the elections held in Sarai Akbarpur on Tuesday. Counting of votes took place in Araon block on Thursday. Atishya Yadav won in this. He defeated his nearest rival Sandhya Devi by 147 votes. Hariom remained at third place by getting 132 votes.
